Connect Telegram

Five steps from zero to a verified, scored community.

Before you start

  • You must be an admin of the Telegram group you want to connect.
  • You need a TokenShield account. Sign in or create one.

Steps

  1. From your dashboard, create a project (name, token info, official links).
  2. Open the Connect Telegram panel — it shows your verification code.
  3. Add the TokenShield Guard bot to your Telegram group.
  4. Grant the bot permissions: read messages, post replies, view admins. The bot does not need delete or ban rights.
  5. In your group, run /verify <code> with the code shown in your dashboard.

What happens next

Once verified, the bot acknowledges the connection. On Free Lite, the bot answers basic safe commands (/start, /help, /trust,/report) and surfaces a basic Trust Page — it does not ingest analytics, run AI, automate replies, or take enforcement actions. Upgrade to Starter or higher to enable full Telegram monitoring, Verify enforcement, automation, and AI features.

New paid communities will see "Not enough data yet" until there is enough history to score reliably. This is intentional — TokenShield refuses to produce fake numbers from thin data. See Confidence levels.

Lite vs Full Telegram access

  • Lite (Free): connect + setup, basic safe commands, Verify Lite that never punishes members (fail-open).
  • Full (Starter+): live monitoring, Verify enforcement, Welcome automation, Alert Center, Suspicious Reports, AI/automation per plan.

Troubleshooting

  • Bot does not respond to /verify — make sure the bot is in the group and has read-messages permission. Re-add if needed.
  • "Verification code invalid" — the code rotates; refresh your dashboard and try again.
  • Group already connected to another project — only one project per group. Remove the old connection first.
